Rebecca Runge, MD, internal medicine physician, has joined the Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) medical staff, according to Erick Larson, president and CEO for HRMC.

Dr. Runge began practice at the HRMC Physicians Clinic on August 29.  She will provide care for patients as both an inpatient and outpatient internal medicine specialist. She provides health care for adolescent through geriatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, evaluation and treatment. As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Runge has specialized training to care for complex medical conditions, as well as management of multiple disease processes.

A native of Wessington, Dr. Runge completed her medical training in South Dakota. She received her Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Dakota (USD) Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion and completed her residency at USD Sanford School of Medicine in Sioux Falls.  Although her education did not take her to another state, Dr. Runge is glad to be home. “I’ve waited a long time to make this move,” she says, “I’m looking forward to connecting with my community again, getting to know my patients and being there for them during life’s highs and lows.”

Dr. Runge and her husband, Paul, reside on a ranch near Ree Heights. Dr. Runge is currently accepting new patients.  Appointments can be made by calling the HRMC Physicians Clinic at 605-353-7660 or online at www.hrmcphysiciansclinic.org.
