New Internist Joins HRMC Physicians Clinic

Huron, S.D – Eric C. Chow, an internal medicine physician, has joined the Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) medical staff, according to David Dick, president and CEO for HRMC.

Dr. Chow is board-certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics, but will focus on internal medicine working with Dr. Travis Lehman in the HRMC Physician Clinic, to ensure a smooth transition of care after Dr. Lehman returns home to Texas in January. Internists provide primary care to patients from adolescents through geriatrics. Dr. Chow emphasizes lifestyle changes for prevention and treatment of many chronic diseases, partnering with patients to help them achieve their health goals. When his patients are admitted to the hospital, Dr. Chow will follow them through their stay and discharge.

Originally from Hawaii, Dr. Chow completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Prior to his residency, he completed an internship in internal medicine and pediatrics at UC San Diego. He received a doctor of medicine degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California.

Dr. Chow also holds a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to joining the HRMC Physician Clinic, he worked as an outpatient physician in internal medicine and pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente in Waipahu, Hawaii. He is certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS).

He and his wife, Irene, are parents to sons Micah, age 3 and Matthew, age 1, and they are excited to join the Huron community. Dr. Chow is currently accepting new patients and appointments can be made by calling 353-7660. More information about Dr. Chow is available online at
